Hi, does anybody know what an original Richard Akerman painting would be worth. I have searched all over the web and even contacted Christies and Bonhams with no luck? Many thanks

Hi

Many thanks - I have seen this before, but I don't think this can be him as it says that he was born in 1900, but he only died in 2005 and was in his 50s I think? Although I am sure that there cannot be two Richard Akerman's - oh I am confused!

I also have been trying to put a value on it with similar results to yourself......if you do find someone who can value your painting I would appreciate if you could pass the info on! and I will do the same If come up with anything !

I will let you know if I find out anything - what is your email - perhaps we could exchange pictures of the pictures - if you know what I mean.

Many thanks.
Sorry for butting in but are you the same PappyUK that posted a question about the lyrics to Captain Rock here three years ago because I just answerd it. You may want to take a look ?
I've also got an original Richard Akerman painting, bought in 1979. It's quite large, on canvas - a red/orangy/black landscape of trees and water with a small house, and signed. Thought it was wonderful when I bought it for the grand sum of 65 back then!

Have been wondering about the value for a while, and have made some attempts with no joy. Would be really interested if you manage to find any information, and will likewise let you know if I manage to find anything out.
hey, i met richard in 2003, back then he said that if it is a canvas what you need to look at is the frame, a later 1 could be about 20-80 pounds, if it is his earlier work then it will have a handmade frame and that will be worth alot more, can't say how much im afraid. i have one of his bout for 25p from a carboot sale, when we met him he said that it was in a handmade frame and could be worth quite alot!!!
if your still wanting it valued there are certain criteria about the handmade frame that can identify them!
