Hello, i am having trouble deciding on which to get. I want a light and quite compact pushchair which i can also attach car seat to. Most travel systems seem pretty bulky and although i have lots of boot space, my house is quite small. I really like the Mamas and papas Luna and also quite like the quinny zapp. Any pros and cons on either or any other suggestions would be great.

Many thanks

It really depends what you are using it for and what budget you have, what size car too

if you are going to be using it for walking to shops etc get one that reclines fully or better still has a carrycot on it. Its not advisable to have baby in a car seat for more than 1.5-2 hours and preferably they should lie flat whenever possible.

a rear and forward facing pram is often advised as baby can get a lot of stimulation from talking and listening to mum or dad pushing them.

The zapp cant be used as a pushchair until baby is about 9 months old and its does not recline at all.

the luna has just been rereleased as there were many faults with the first issues.

The M&P pramettes are very popular and are cheaper than a full 5 in 1 combo. As are the quinny buzz with dreami carrycots.

small wheels are great but can get grounded on sand and gravel. Larger wheels and 3 wheeled joggers are good for uneven ground. Handle controlled brakes are good when there are lots of hills.

so what do you want to use it for?

I bought the Graco Quattro travel system for my daughter who is due to have her son in January.

I had no say in what she chose(didn't expect to either-just wanted to buy it for her) Graco have quite a good choice at very reasonable prices.

Wow thanks, you know your stuff!!!

Well my partners mum is buying this so not too sure on budget although wouldnt want to push it it over 500.00!

As i say, my car has lots of room, we have just bought the new model Vectra and the boot is massive.

Thats the thing i noticed about the Quinny, the fact that it doesnt lie back. I will be using for small walks and journeys in car, shopping etc.

I was aware the Luna has been rereleased, do you know exactly why? This is my favourite one, love the colours and the fact that its small and light, i figured it would probably last a while as it as travel system and it light enough for a stroller.

Thanks once again
you wont really need something as small as the quinny zapp then with a car that size. It also doesnt have a basket and tips easily if things are hung on handles.

The Loola has great reviews and is always very popular as a rear and forward facing, although it can be quite bulky.

ive got a quinny speedi for my toddler and when baby number 2 arrives next april i think i will just buy a dreami carrycot as ive found the speedi to be great. Nice and large and easy to push

The luna had a few faults, mainly i think the seat was too shallow.

this is a great messageboard for prams and car seats. the ladies there really know their stuff when it comes to prams. It may be worth a browse about http://messageboards.ivillage.co.uk/iv-ukpbcar seats

Now im really confused!! There is just too much, think im going to go and have a lie down!
lol. and that is why some of us have loads of prams and pushchairs.

Its hard to find something that really will last until your child is 3, youll find a nicer pram down the line and swap or youll have one for every day of the week.

I have a large 4 in 1 mamas and papas perfect with baby for walks
a m&P pliko travel system which ive just given to fellas nephew
A zapp which is used in summer only
a speedi which is used almost all the time now
If budget was no option then the Bugaboo is fab, my little girl is 13 months and still likes to face me, its incredibly light and eay to fold and unfold and fits in my car with my sons wheelchair!

You can get a car seat for it, but we only bought ours after our first pram broke so never needed one.

It is expensive, but after pushing one, its eay to tell why
oh my goodness, my child stole my brain!

EASY to fold and unfold and EASY to see why
Hi Lucy

I have the Graco Quattro Deluxe which is great but my son is quite tall/long and could only fit in the carry-cot facility for 2.5 months. The main buggy does lie completely flat so he goes in that if we're going to be out-and-about for more than an hour. The car seat clicks into the buggy and is rear-facing so we can have eye-contact; the buggy is a guaranteed sleep-inducer so he doesn't stay awake for long enough to chat to!

The best feature is that the car seat base is included which means that you can just clip baby in.

Hope I haven't confused matters even more x
Check your pram will go into your boot first. My husbands car has a massive boot but his car is a saloon.and I cannot get it to fit in. I have a focus. a much smaller car but it is a hatch and I have no problem getting the pram in that.
