I have very stupidly spilt hot leg wax on my carpet. How on earth can I get it off? It won't scrape off wIth a knife like regular candle wax, would an iron and brown paper work. It's a beige carpet so I would be a bit nervous to use newspaper incase the print came off. Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received.

I would try iron and brown paper first, not too hot with the iron and keep changing the brown paper as it only absorbs once
i once used an iron and brown paper on the same thing. Didnt think for a minute that because it was a nylon based mix it would melt the carpet but it did,,,, beware,,, wax didnt come off either. K.

thats a shame musicmummy, maybe the iron was too hot?
Ithink it might have been, silly me, i just bought a nice rug K.
I thought leg wax was mainly sugar based? It may wash out, try dissolving some from the same packet in warm water as a test.
I did the same thing in my car whilst working as a mobile beautician. the best and cheapest way to remove the wax is by using Paraffin which dissolves it.
Yhe wax is paraafin based so it works well.
Hope this helps,

mary
