Front Garden Hedge

I want to grow a hedge at the front of my house but I have three small children and don't want one with thorns what do you recomend

privet is a good one, depends if you are UK based, or you could try Lonicera Nitidia Baggensens Gold which although isn't strictly a hedge, we have one in our front garden and it will tolerate being clipped etc and can also be clipped into a ball or rounded off IYKWIM. Depending on the ages of your children avoid plants which will fruit berries as they maybe poisonous and avoid yew latin Taxus as it is extremely poisonous
