I bought a new GPS, but when I plugged the lead into the cigarette lighter, it blew the fuse for the cigarette lighter.. My previous GPS didn't give me any problems. This happened, even when the lead wasn't plugged into the GPS. Why is this happening and what can I do about it please?

Sounds like there is a short in the plug that goes into the cigarette lighter. If nothing on the outside is obviously bent, I suggest you get it replaced if its a new lead.
