I have a Rover 620 GSDi and have had constant problems. The car has no power and seems to mis-fire now and again. It does not like inclines and when going up a long slope the engine light flashes.

I have had it on a diagnostics machine but it comes back with no engine fault but did say air bag faulty earth. I disconnected the air bag but it's still the same.

In the passed 6 months its had a completely new exhaust (the flexible section had blown through although it was only 6 months old). The main belt tensioner was changed as this broke off. This was replaced and a new belt fitted. The battery was changed as this actually blew up into a million pieces.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am at a loss as is the mechanic.

Is it a Turdodiesel?(pretty sure it is) have you checked the pipe is still attached to the turbo or that the pipe is not split. That would account for no power.Have you cleaned/changed the injectors?

Thanks for your answer. Yes car is a turbo. No injectors not been cleaned. I assumed if they were blocked then this would have shown up on diagnostics so had discounted that. Been to check turbo hoses. Excuse me for being thick but there are two 3inchish rubber hoses going into the engine, one is central to engine block, the other to the right. Are these them?
Some one has also said that the wiring loom can get "cooked" on these as it passes over the manifold. I've looked to see if I can find this but not certain which of the many looms to look at. Would you know?

Thanks for your help. Bob
