how do i turn sound on?

Hi how do i turn on the sound on my sony vaio laptop as when i hold down fn f1 f2 or f3 there is no volume icon thingy... thnx in advance( i did have sound before, my daughter possibly might have done somethinhg ) but she cant remember!!!!

Haven't you got the volume control + and - buttons just below the touchpad?

Have you opened the volume settings the the control panel and tried to manipulate them from there?

Have you got a manual?
