Music software

I want to do a music round in my local quiz- I can down load music but I need some (preferably free!!) basic software to select clips and burn them to a cd. I have burning software but not the editing stuff. Any quizzers out there can help?

if you wan to edit it i think you can try by going into windows movie maker and in there if you import a song then you can cut up the song into different bits and then maybe selected the bit you wan and try and burn it to disc by pressing copy and paste it into the blank CD window and write to cd. OR id that doesnt work you should be able to add those clips of songs into a powerpoint presentation and jus play the presentation. hope it helps :)

I use Audacity for this very purpose (like doing intros or something).
