My Union obviously haven't thought about it Rev.

Pippa - Rev didn't know about my situation but I just feel so emotional at the moment. I don't know whether I'm coming or going or anything anymore.
Hi tiggerblue , do you know when they are back to work ?
I think it's been nearly a week since I saw a postie round here . :-)
Question Author
I thought they were supposed to be back today. Its gone 12.30 and I'm (or we're all) still waiting.

AB is the only thing keeping sane and preventing me throwing my monitor out of the window at the moment.

How are today BM? xxx
There will be a huge backlog.

Then another strike early next week. so I don't imagine there being any post for me for a long while...

Fine thankyou tiggerblue , well I didn't know they are going to strike again next week , oh dear , I hope it does some good for them in the end to make it worth while.

Hi Leg. I will try and contact them to email me. I don't have a fax machine.

Sorry to all for blurting out my problems. I shouldn't really bring them on AB as the are my problems and I have to deal with them.

x

It had better make a difference as they are rapidly losing public support.
Just read about your troubles Tigger. Sorry and all that, but the cause of your distress is akin to ours. Just as a situation at work has made you unhappy and distressed, we are being bullied and pressurised by management on a daily basis, and it isn't pleasant. And no, I am not extracting the urine - my workplace used to be happy but now there are a lot of depressed people, including me. I'm having to take in a lodger to meet my mortgage now and it's wrong that I should have to do that. I've been out of work too, and that's depressing, but at least then you can have the hope of things getting better.

special delivery?
Posties earn 18K

thats an official royal mail figure.

you have to take into account several factors:

early starts - most daytime delivery posties are in the sorting office by 6am, in order to sort their round and get out to deliver it by 8/8:30am.
if they finish early - as some think - it's usually because they've used their own car to deliver the post, rather than make 3 trips on a bike carrying limited amounts of mail each time. That's why you often see them lifting mail bags out of the car boot, it's not because they're stealing it.

modernisation, which is needed, will costs thousands of jobs. at the same time, RM want to reduce pension payments by around 7%, and change terms and conditions.

you have to ask yourself, if posties are 'glorified paperboys on 20k per year' why aren't so many of you trying to do the job ?
the truth is, the basics more like 14K, but overtime bumps it up, you're out in all weathers, carrying heavy bags of mail, and most people don't fancy doing it.
I'm waiting for letters too, but if they're prepared to go on a series of strikes (the first national ones for 10years) and lose pay etc, maybe we should cut them some slack.
So they ARE glorified paperboys then? Paperboys on 18 - 20,000 a year that get paid so much because they have to get up early and carry heavy things and sometimes it rains.

....my heart bleeds.
