Doubling it is hardly much better, is it?

what the hell?

4 years for that? They'll serve 2, get out, be poorly monitored, then re-offend, and there'll be some kind of 'inquiry'.
How is this 'justice'?

Oh yeah I agree with you leg ~ I was just responding to Supernicks post :o)

I can understand that dodgy slogans, thongs et al are not appropriate...but bikinis?
We could teach our little ones to be the most precocious and inviting, to the extent that every red blooded female and male would be salivating but

If you are an adult you make choices, decisions and sometimes, just sometimes you can not blame the victim, the government, the parents, the BBC- you just have to be the moral custodian of your own behaviour and act in appropriate ways

Lecture over.
hang on i thought ipps were introduced in 2005 so that they hav 2 prove they ain't a risk to the public to be released from prison. what makes me laugh is they issue ipps to people for silly things yet not for raping kids

I don't think the argument that they said they were 16 or whatever counts. People working in retail have to use their judgement when it comes to selling fags or alcohol to underagers even if they thought that person was 16 or whatever they are still prosecuted for selling to underagers. I don't think the sentence was adequate, it was obviously an excuse they made to get out of it a 10 year & a 12 year old look that no matter how much make up they wear. It was just a pathetic attempt to avoid responsability.
its not justice its disgusting.

we're constantly reading about people who commit serious crimes and are more or less getting away with it getting small sentences, judges need some common sense

have you ever been to the pictures or watched a dvd and at the beginning it tells us about piracy and how you can be fined s***loads of money and could possibly end up in jail? they put more of a price on money than they do on a life thats been probably ruined these days. its pathetic
the whole judicial system has gone to pot, there is no value on a persons life these days, except a criminal one!
