Oddly getting married in Italy would probably cost you a lot more than the Caribbean. Greece is pretty cheap for weddings over seas, Kefalonia always looked good but hot. Sicily is an absolute fortune by the way.

Thanks,

GS, my friend got married at Lake Garda (whereever that is in Italy) and she said it cost 2 grand, which i dont think is bad in comparison with typical british weddings?

Its in the north, kind of near Milan. Not really close to beach and the weather can be a bit off.

My aunt got married in a cave in Rome but then they are Italian. There is a wedding company that specialises in weddings in Italy and surprise, surprise is called

If you want the beach the Rimini is pretty nice. Umbria is gorgeous and if you find you do fancy spending some nice days on the beach then Calabria is cheap, in fact from Napoli down its a lot cheaper.
On another note, I think getting married abroad is lovely, at least the day is about the two of you and not fussing over hundreds of guests.
We were married in Australia...it was the farthest point on the map we could find from our relatives!

Heaven!

:-)
Try one of the smaller Tour Operators, most will organise weddings. You dont need the full wedding package, unless you want it. You can arrange a lot yourselves, though you will need translators etc (if somewhere other than English speaking). A Tour Operator that offers this service will guide you through this and what you need to get done before you set off. It's a lot cheaper than in the UK.
In the state of Colorado, USA, you can go to any local County Clerk's office, and ask for a Marriage License Application Form. This will cost you US$10.00. You and your partner fill in the form there and then and sign it, the clerk rubber stamps it, signs it too, and that's you married!. Cheap enough?
