Hi, i have looked through several of my indexes and Gibson guides for census returns but nor found a St Cloves, it isn't St Clears is it? Did you get the place name from a primary source or a secondary source?
i`m a welshie, never heard of it

well,it was where my gt/ gt /gt grandad was born in 1832
Is this the name u got from a census return? I think you should try to look at the original filmed copy, where did you find it? It may have been an error in the transcription. Have you looked at the IGI for him? just to get a cross reference
there is a St Olaves in Wales near Sheffield.

sorry Norman but I have looked at lots of sources and I just cannot find it, if you can tell me where you found it maybe it would help, is it a parish from a census return, or a sub-district, or on a census as a place of birth, or on a civil registration certificate? I haver lots of indexes here I can check but nothing is showing up.
