My parents are divorced and have both moved away to different countries leaving my brother in the family home. Mum could do with her share of the family home. Can my brother buy her share of the house to ease her finances, and how............... (Dad lives in UAE and unlikely to return to UK)

Depends - I assume that your parents own the property jointly but do not know whether they do so as
"joint tenants" or "tenants in common". You mother can sell her half share if they are tenants in common.

I believe they are tenants in common.
Would a personal agreement in writing between my mum and brother be sufficient for him to buy (mum to sign over) half the house? and would it be legally binding?
