I think you couild only ever buy them from butchers who made their own. I've never seen a packaged product. Used to be eaten in my household on Mondays - mince up the left over meat from the joint, add some seasoning & herbs, mix in to the left over mashed potato (or make some more), add an egg to bind it all together, make it into fat beefburger shapes, then fry them. Yummy. Only modern problem is that we don't have kitchen tables onto which to clamp a good cast iron mincer. I use the patio table outside - found the mincer in a junk shop. Food processors and other whizzers don't produce the same effect. Worth a quest!
