I've been thinking (yes it shocked me too!) if a persons body was encased in something permanently, (say a plastercast for arguments sake)- what would happen to the skin?

I'm asking because my arm looking downright 'orrible after only 8 weeks, scaly and a pale yucky colour.

Would your skin flake off completely if it was no longer exposed? How long would it take?
