avi and divx movies

Can anyone recommend a program that will allow me to view video clips in avi and dvix formats? I would like it to be free and downloadable. I am not interested in editing or comverting, just viewing. There seems to be many different bits of freeware, so a recomendation would help me get a good one.

avi should play be in windows media player but if not try apples 'quicktime' viewer also for divx the answer is simple -divx player !
