The Grand Cross of the Iron Cross is the highest medal.

It was used by prussians and was renewed as a german decoration in 1939 . since 1939 it has only been awarded to 1 person ( goering) and a higher medal was planned but was never issued (Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross )
