typed the last bit twice , its late and I have not got glasses on GypsyX
Hi there gypsy,
i have been watchin a lot of the dog whisperer and i think he is very good and every thing he does to all these dogs to sort out there problems works, a good one that i used on my dog was the plastic bottle with rice or pasta in and every time he did somthing he shouldnt i did a hard shake on the bottle and said a firm NO and it actually worked so try that the noise is ment to scare them.
good luck
My pup responded well when I said ouch and squeaked very loudly,I made a fuss and let him know that he had hurt me. Rattling tin cans with stones in are OK but with a sensitive pup it could make them noise shy. Is he teething?or is he mouthing you for reassurance?

I hate to say it but some dogs just don't grow out of it, I had a golden retriever and now have a gsd that mouthes all the time. Don't know why but they won't stop. The main trouble is you don't want to make a puppy hand shy. I have used a squirty water bottle with other pups, just to make them stop and think. The trouble with this, my gsd now thinks it's great fun to be squirted.
Dogs who'd have em lol
I have the same problem at the moment. My duvet cover look like it was attacked by giant moths. He does stop mouthing me if I squeal loudly enough and I try and give him something else to chew on. George is teething and he's enjoying a Kong toy which looks like a large X. He also has small marrow bones which my butcher cuts specially so George can get the marrow out. That keeps him busy. He also likes playing with half an empty coconut shell he found in the garden. Persevere Gypsy it's not for long.
Shaking a bottle filled with rice Etc is the definately the wrong way to go they get used to it so what i did with my minpin was the exact same as i did with the boys when they were touching the things they shouldnt have or having a bite as kids do lol but cant type the sound if you know what i mean , its just as you tap the kids hand for touching things .......gawd this sounds so stupid, but if you get what i mean it does work hope this helps
Hiya Gypsy -have you tried growling at him, like an adult dog would do to tell him off? It worked for mine.
PS have sent you a message on the back of the one you sent me the other day. K xx
the rice in the bottle trick didnt work for mine with regards to chasing the hoover, so I just shut her outside.

I was going to say you should refrain from playing with him, but you say you tried walking away and it doesnt work, so presumably he chases you? A friend of mine had a GSD who was the same and as much as I love dogs, I stopped visiting as he was a nightmare and they did nothing to stop him, and it got to the stage that they couldnt take him out as he turned aggressive towards anyone walking past him in the street.

How about putting on some gloves that have been sprayed in bitter bite which tastes revolting? You have got to be very very firm with him, I have never smacked my dogs, ever, but I have in the past with a border collie who was very naughty grabbed her round each side of the neck, stared in her eyes and shouted 'no' - he has to know you mean business and it is not a game.

To ensure he knows you are the leader of the pack I have heard that you should stand over your dog with their body between your legs, and your head facing the same way as them, and bring their front feet off the floor at least once a day, dont know if it works, but it was on one of those dog whispering programmes.
Try aversion therapy. paint you hands with something unpleasant such as bitter aloe.

Unfortunatly GSD are mouthers my GSD did the same thing and still does( not as hard) it to my husband and and two grown up sons, but not to me. When she was a pup and mouthed all the time I would let out a loud yelp when she did it turn my back and totally ignore her it was quite funny at the time as she would sit with her head cocked looking at me, this went on for a few months but she soon got the message
