Bought a couple of these 4 in 1 pest repellers from a shopping channel. They send out ultrasonic and electromagnetic waves. It states they are safe for humans but I swear my ears feel like when you are descending on an aeroplane coming into land. Can they effect me and not other people?

I am very deaf and I can hear the blessed things. They never worked for me.

Never felt like you describe though.
We bought two and I can hear a high pitched noise but Mr M can't hear a thing, so it looks as if they affect people in different ways.

I have decided to send them back for a refund. After submitting the question I came across an article on the internet that suggests there is no evidence to suggest they actually work and in some cases they could ATTRACT pests. Thanks for your answers folks.
Ultrasonics aren't going to have a blind bit of difference on insect type pests and they've got to be very specifically tuned for things like cats & dogs. A lot of them Is suspect aren't even in the ultrasonic frequency bands anyway.

Electromagnetic waves - erm, right....that convinces me it's full of total rubbish.
We plugged in one of these pest repellent some weeks ago. The problem is there is no way of knowing they are working.

But just 2 weeks ago we started to find dead mice in the garden which until then we hadn't. We assumed therefore that these creatures were forced out of our property into a neighbours and he had made efforts to remove them by poison.
As a pest controller for 13 years I would say get your money back they are a complete waste of time and money!!!
Kwicky, anybody who puts poison down will kill mice or rats, there are rats and mice passing though all our gardens probably every night of the week!!
Ratter15 yes quite but if a neighbour had put poison down why now. Was he being plaqued by mice moving from our property to his. Unfortunately it is only conjecture as we have not had dead mice in our garden for years..
