Hi

I'm getting some work done in my bathroom and the builder who is Polish is unsure how to turn off the water supply in my traditional glasgow tenement. I think this is done somewhere outside bit I'm not sure where.

Can anyone help please?

Hi if there is no internal stopcock for your individual flat, usually under the bath or sink, then you will need to turn of the supply to the whole block. Look for a small manhold cover just outside the entrance and under there you will find a valve which needs a big "key" to turn it off.
