Does anyone have personal experience of this? I've read all the websites and anything medical I can get my hands on, but that doesn't help with personal experience. I was diagnosed (and treated) when I was 18 following a miscarriage am now 35 and still no babies. Should I just give up and forget about it? I suppose all I am looking for is help. GP is singularly unsympathetic.

Firstly ask to see a different GP, mine is excellent and pushed for a diagnosis. Secondly, i have PCOS and have been pregnant 3 times, my first was very prem,as was my 2nd but he survived and i have just had a little girl.
I lost 3 stone, took me ages due to my ovaries, and then i fell pregnant, my gp said that losing weight helped me greatly in conceiving.
Have you been given anything like Clomid, or other fertility drugs? If not then as i say you should really try and change your doctor. good luck
Have you been on verity its a PCOS help group.

i found it when i was first diagnosed, on the discussion forum it has loads of categories, trying to concieve, emotional problems, medications.

there are loads of women on it and they all support each other, and its great to hear there success stories.

honestly give it a try!

xx
I have PCOS, diagnosed by my doctor and through a fertility clinic. We had been trying for a couple of years before I was diagnosed and I was given Clomid, through which I conceived two children relatively quickly, both went more or less to term. Scarily though, I am currently pregnant with my 3rd which was rather a surprise, conceived within 10 days of having a IUD removed - never say never!! I would certainly suggest you find an alternative GP as clearly you're not getting any younger and if you go through diagnosis etc. on the NHS, it can take quite a long time (about a year for me) even if they know it's PCOS. It may be you have an added complication of blocked tubes etc. but are putting the problems down to the PCOS because you're aware of that. As boobesque says - find a different GP and quick!! Best of luck xx
My daughter was diagnosed only last year with the syndrome and was told that both of her ovaries were very badly affected numerous large cysts.
She was told that her only chance of conceiving would have to be VF.

4 weeks ago she found out she was pregnant and had not been trying so what is for you will not go bye you as the old saying goes have faith and I wish you well
i had this nearly three years ago,i was pregrant and went for my first scan at nearly 7mths long story wont go into that, well at the scan they said i had a cyst on my ovary, they sent me home, after my baby was born i had an op to remove the cyst tubes and my ovary on the left side, they said if it would have been left it would have burst and got into my blood and it could have been bad news for me that really scarred me,the cyst was the size of a big water melon
I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS after trying for a baby with my fiance for over a year, im 24 and he is 30.
we have been told that he has got poor motlity and are awaiting the results of further tests before they will start us any treatment.
i am finding this really difficult to cope with this at the moment, as we have been together for 5 years, have a nice home together and both work full time, and the only thing that would complete us even more is a family.
I weigh 9stone (size 10)and am 5 foot 3. Would losing some weight help or chaging my diet? Could do with some help and abit of a pick me up!! I know Im only 24 and still have a few years of my biological clock left, but with my partner being 30 i am thinking that maybe its not to be. When my partner was a toddler, he had an undecended testicle which was operated on, but has never fully dropped, and have been told by some people that this could decrease his fertitliy? Any advice
