Can anyone tell me whether you can go to the American embassy without an appointment, I have only just found out that one of our travellers requires a visa, he was arrested and spent the night in the cells, we are supposed to be travelling at the beginning of November and do not have time to get an appointment for a visa please help someone. Does anyone know what checks are made in the USA if we tick box ......ever been arrested

If he was never charged with anything I doubt if there is any way of immigration in America finding out that he once spent a single night in the cells. Just tick the never been arrested box - I did and had no problems (despite having been arrested several times in the past).
