I have two potted cordylines, how best should I look after them during the winter months. Cover them or take indoors.

Depends on where you live but they are not fully frost hardy but will take it cold with some protection. The best action is to use tubular protection fleece to cover them up. If in a sheltered spot near to the wall of the house they should be ok.

I live in the South of England and dont use any protection on mine and they are fine.
I agree - it really depends where you live. I used to live in Dorset, and I bought 2 that were not supposed to grow more than 3 - 4 feet maximum. They were absolutely great plants, and grew to 3 times that. I have a friend in Germany though who has problems in the winter, and she just covers them with lightweight plant protection, and they are fine.
