Can anyone help me out with an idiot's guide to wall-papering, please?

I've never actually attempted it before, but I fancy giving it a go this weekend. It's only the one feature wall that I'm doing, so I'm hoping that'll be alright for me for my first time. I've asked my lovely dad to just do it for me, but he seems to go selectively deaf at the mention of it! :o)

All tips much appreciated. Thanks! ws :o) x

Preparation is all............

Make sure you have all the correct equipment and read thoroughly all the instructions on rolls of paper and paste packets....................then get stuck in and enjoy !
Its not difficult, I managed to paper my kitchen myself when I moved into my first house - I was really impressed with myself!

My dad supervised the first couple of strips but after that I was on my own. On wall should be easy, especially if its got no windows, radiators or sockets to negotiate!

There are some hints here.

Plain paper or one with a large pattern in easier to work with than one with lots of small detail or a fussy pattern.
Take time to get the first drop correct then the rest will follow
