I had a dream the other night which I'm convinced could be the basis of a multi million pound hit film.
If I send the idea to Steven Spielberg how can I protect it from being plagarised?

There is the old idea of sending a copy of the idea to yourself (or more than one copy) via the post and leave it sealed. It would probably be as well to consult a lawyer, though,as I am not sure if this would stand up in court.
was your dream WBA getting promoted and staying in the premiership...i doubt anyone else wud plagarise that

Even Spielberg draws the line somewhere neo !
It's highly unlikely that you can stop it being plagiarised; just ask Michael Marshall Smith whose novel "Spares", concerning people being grown for spare parts who eventually escape into the outside world, was under development at Dreamworks. The studio let the rights lapse, and later made "The Island", a film about people being grown for spare parts who eventually escape into the outside world.
Copyright protection arises automatically once the literary work is created. There is no point posting it to yourself. The symbol is not significant either.

You have to write the screenplay as there is no copyright in ideas.
