For the past year I have had the most horrible 'mildew' / mouldy smell in my car. I've had it valetted twice and I've used an aerosol 'bomb' to no avail.
Has anyone out there had the same problem and solved it?
I've checked all the carpets & upholstery and can't detect any dampness. It's driving me mad!!!

you could try changing the pollen filter???sometimes they get damp and clogged a bit and start to emit an odour through the air vents.
Sounds like your car has a leak somewhere. You may not be able to feel the damp yourself but it will be deep in the seats etc.You need to throughly dry it out before the smell will go but it'll only get damp again when it rains. Have you got air con? that'll dry it out or failing that you can put the heater on full and leave the windows open about 2 inches. In the mean time try and find the leak.

I suspect this is the problem. How long should I leave the air con on for?

I will also check the pollen filter out

Thanks guys!
well if you just have the air con on when you are using the car then over time it'll dry out as long as it doesn't rain. You need to find the leak though as it's going to be an ongoing problem otherwise.
best results are achieved by having the engine running and the aircon on buy one of the odour nuetralisers the spray type and spray the full lot into the car and leave it for 10 mins that usually gets into the air con and freshens it up a treat

I've already used one of those - it only masked the smell for a couple of days. I'm going to take up all the carpets & do my best to find a leak & vax the seats again. Fingers crossed.
Thanks everyone - any other advice would still be welcome!
