I get really fustrated with twitching... when the reason for my twitching has gone, the twitch stays as a nasty and annoying habbit which I find so hard to stop... is there a way to stop? Is there a reason why this happens?

I've had different sorts of twitching in the past, they've all gone in the end, only sometimes coming back for another session... the twitches last from anything from a few weeks and maybe at the worst up to a year or something.

For example:

I have a scab on the inside of my nose for a while, which causes me to twitch... at a later date the scab has gone, therefore in theory my twitching should stop... but it doesn't, instead the twitching carries on and is really difficult to stop.

Sounds like either stress or naturally you could be leaning towards having nervous ticks/twitches, like very mild tourettes. You should try and take up yoga or meditation. This will hopefully calm you down and give you techniques to apply when you feel yourself twitching or feeling anxious.
