Why is it that most men prefer to work under a male manager? Is it because women are still thought of as child rearers, a more important job to many. If women were given a choice I believe many would also prefer a male boss. Is this just a false stereotype?

give me a female boss anyday
I prefer a male boss
I prefer to train women..especially young pretty ones
Weaker Sex??? with the exception of maybe some Eastern European shot-putters, of course women are the weaker sex.

It is biology, not sociology that has "created" this.

As for bird bosses, never had one, and probably never will.
I couldn't care whether I have a male or female boss, I've gotten on extremely well with both.
meant to add that I think it depends on personalities more than which sex they are.

Ive had both, no worries!!
Had both, doesn't bother me.
I prefer male bosses, just think they're better equiped to provide leadership. It's the same in a family situation most of the time too. Not saying that women can't be good bosses, I've had a few that were good that I looked up to. I often find with women you've got to listen to them go on about completely mundane crap such as diets, corrie, children etc.... they're a lot more distracting and I usually find that men are more on the same level as me. Personal preference I suppose.
Dunno - but I use to be the boss of up to 40 male workers at a time, and managed to get on with everyone very well. The guys had a laugh with me, and I calmly took a lot of stick, but they were also respectful of my position. I don't think gender matters providing the boss does his or her job well.
I'm female and have always had female bosses mostly..i do think it is down to personality as opposed to gender. But i do find, in my own experience, that female bosses play on being female to get ahead rather than using good management skills. just my opinion.
