I heard someone say that it is impossible to count to one million, and you would die before you finished. Is this true or a myth?? How long would it take to count to 1,000,000???

Assuming you can count 1 number per second thats 86400 in a day so 1,000,000 will take you just over 11 and a half days if you don't sleep, even if you only count for 8 hours a day itll take you a little over a month
hahaha you wouldnt die! you would fall asleep! and as for how long it would take....2 numbers per second seems to be how fast I can count out loud, therefor half a million seconds, 86400 seconds in a day! easy peasy to work that out!
that was spooky....i sent virtually the same message as moog...and when i typed it moog's message wasnt there!
I have lived for over 1,600,000,000 seconds.
To be a bit more realistic - by the time you have got to numbers like 537,649 it will take about 5 seconds to say each number out loud clearly, and you will be so bored that you will want a rest of perhaps 5 more seconds before you start saying the next one. So you will only be able to count one number every 10 seconds. And to avoid getting too bored, you would only reasonably count for about 6 hours per day, i.e. 2160 numbers per day, ie about 460 days to count to a million. So you could realistically do it in a year and a bit or so.

The person who told you that you would die before you finished might be correct in the sense that someone would probably murder you before you finished, as you would be boring everybody to frustration.
I have been alive for 1.61826% of my current total lifetime in the last 5 months. (July 22 back to Feb 22). How old am I? I'm 'celebrating' day no. 9331 today. The 10000th day for people comes on the third month of their 27th birthday.
In addition, I'll have lived for .80913% of my total age when I'm twice my age that I am now (25 vs 50) in the same 5 mth span. Logically, cause 1.61826 divided by 2 is .80913 and half the relative time spent on life. So, 'time' slows down as you get older?
Didn`t quite catch that Madhat, would you mind repeating it from the beginning.
Easily!
yes you can count to 1,000,000 before you die...i have done it. and to prove it here is how i did it:- 1, 2, miss a few 9,999,999, 1,000,000 simple :)
why don't you try it and let us know
lambshell, you put on one too many 9's, it should be 999999
