I am thinking of having laser eye surgery to correct short sightedness. Have been told i need Lasik surgery. Does anyone have any feedback on this. I would appreciate all your comments, whether good or bad. I have researched it immensely on the internet, but would rather personal opinions.

Thanks

I was going to have this earlier this year - I went to my GP who gave me the names of three surgeons.

I had appointments with all three but was not suitable - I would have still needed to wear glasses. I was very disappointed at the time, and had a consultation at Specsavers. They said I was ideal for the more expensive treatment - 3000 please - and the disclaimer I would have had to sign said I accepted it may not be successful. Obviously I didn't go through with it.

My point is that these people would have been happy to take my money knowing full well I would still be wearing glasses afterwards.

Please talk to your GP and go to recommended surgeons, not money grabbing high street clinics.

Hi, luvlylady! :o)

(I've copied and pasted some of my answers from other threads...)

My boyfriend and his mum had their eyes done through Ultralase about four months ago now.

My boyfriend's eyesight wasn't seriously bad (he did have to wear glasses for driving, etc.), but his mum couldn't see a thing without hers and she'd worn glasses since she was a little girl. They both have 20/20 vision now, and did have from their check-ups the day after the procedures! The after care at Ultralase is fantastic, too. Oh, and they're doing a 'Buy Now, Pay Later' type deal with interest free credit.

Here is there page regarding Lasik surgery: http://my.ultralase-eye-surgery.co.uk/100/lasi k.htm?CGISESSID=618ffdd7005a2578bc3fa79ec5b099 df

and they're FAQ page: http://my.ultralase-eye-surgery.co.uk/100/faq. htm?CGISESSID=618ffdd7005a2578bc3fa79ec5b099df

I hope this helps you. Good luck. x
