Hi, my 6 week old son has this white litle lump in his upper gum, its hard and looks a lot like a litle tooth coming out. And the strangest thing is that it looks like its in the canine tooth place. About a week ago his sleeping pattern changed and he cries more than usual. He even wakes himself up with a cry in the middle of a nap. Is it possible he's starting teething this soon ?

Some babies are born with teeth! Your baby is quite normal, and it certainly sounds as if he is teething. My son's first tooth came through at 6 weeks. My friend's babe didn't get any teeth until he was almost a year old.
Both my little girls cut their teeth at three months old and not in the exact order which they are supposed to come through in. The telltale signs which I soon learned to recognise with my children were fretfulness , constant dribbling , biting at their hands , red cheeks or a red spot on their cheek and nappy rash , which they only ever got whilst teething. A baby's development varies from child to child but if you are worried at all then why not have a quick word with your health visitor who I am sure will only be too glad too help x
Hi, I agree with both the answers given. There's not alot to add,but have a look at www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Parenting/Question62825.html It's about 'teething pains'. I know the suggestions were given for a slightly older baby, but some of the ideas may help sooth your little boy's gums.
hiya my friends baby started teething at 1 month old and didnt finish until he was three so dont panic and good luck with finding something that calms him, the link lindy loo gave u is a good one!! xx
this happended to my son too, and it was a little bout of thrush that he had im his mouth, as i was breast feeding we were both passing it back and forward.Unbeknown to me there was an outbreak of it in the hospital when he was born, so he came home with it. it also then passed thru him and he ended up with it on his bottom too..just a thought that this could be another possible answer to your prob..easily gotten rid of tho-if you're worried at all, just give your health visitor a call-good luck x
