Could be a number of things. First check the fuses, especially the ones that run the Alarm and Immobiliser. Next check the connections on the both of these, as in all wires are plugged into the A/I unit, and follow the wires from there checking that there are no breaks in them. A wire may have come loose from it while you were driving, which means you could continue driving but it wouldn't start when next time you try to turn the key. (On A/I unit) Also the plugs/connectors sometimes tarnish and get bad conductivity, solve this by unplugging and plugging them at least 5 times and add a spray of WD40 onto contacts and this should fix it.
How do you know the "battery is fine"?

Is the vehicle parked in view of ANY telephone style masts???? They give off signals that can interfer with the car frequancy and immoberlis the vehicle. I've seen this happen loads of times and just push it out of site of these masts does work.
