4. The Who, "I Can See For Miles"

5. Jackie Wilson, " Higher and Higher"

6. Sam and Dave, "Soul Man"

10. Otis Redding, "Try A Little Tenderness"

Hope this helps :D
Anyone agree that that's a hell of a top ten- all memorable songs 40 years later. Will this week's top 10 be remembered in 40 years time- I don't think so?

Ermm.... as fantastic as that Top 10 is, Rebecca666, it is completely wrong! Not one of those songs was even in the Top 40 at the time (& Penny Lane never got to No.1)

The real UK Top 10 of mid-October 1967 was:

1. Massachusetts - The Bee Gees
2. The Last Waltz - Engelbert Humperdinck
3. Hole In My Shoe - Traffic
4. Flowers In The Rain - The Move
5. The Letter - Box Tops
6. Baby Now That I've Found You - The Foundations
7. Homburg - Procol Harum
8. From The Underworld - Herd
9. There Must Be A Way - Frankie Vaughan
10. Zabadak - Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich

Here's the link to prove it:

Sorry
*Not one of those songs - except The Who - was even in the Top 40 at the time*
