Hi, I am looking at doing a hairdressing apprenticeship. I grew up in australia but moved to london when i was 16 and lived there for 6 years I am now back in Aus but want to return to england to live and undertake an apprenticeship.

I will be 25 in October and when i go onto sites for jobs most of them say 16-24 am I too old? Here in australia age is no issue and all apprentice jobs are advertised privately by the employer. I cant seem to see any apprentice jobs advertised outside of apprentice websites. Can someone please advise? Many Thanks

In the UK apprenticeships are aimed at young people below the age of 19 at the start. This link tells you more about the formal scheme:

It may be that rather than a formal app scheme you look for "trainee" roles.
