Is it just me being stupid or does anyone else make up the wrong lyrics to songs, my best one is the old Elton John favourite Daniel ...my spaniel. I really love singing along when I'm with someone coz they never know if i'm totally serious or not.

I do that as well,my lyrics are usually rude though so I won't put them on here. My 10 year old son has also picked up the habit and sings" Big Girls Eat Pies" instead of "Big Girls Don't Cry" to the song by Fergie that is currently being played on radio stations.lol
to see this done by accident, google the word 'mondegreens'
maybe if i come in this thread, people will follow me & stop posting in my thread by mistake!
Pfft!

Love it when you can get the kids involved too daffy. you can make them believe what ever you want.
JNO that site was fab !!
years ago there was an advert and the song was "no body bakes them quite like mcvities do"
my dad used to sing "mcvicki who" it was him that got me going on all of this.
For some reason, I sing along to the Lemar song and say 'There's not much chocolate in the world'

wiggal, you have really made me laugh with the legend answer!! Dont be cross I always share everything and my thread is no exception. The only condition is that you make up a song lyric that's wrong and extremely funny.
It isnt as much funny, but I always thought the Beatles song was Michelle my Belle, not Michelle my friend. I was only ickle then! BTW both me & my sister are named after Beatles songs :)
My ex used to do it all the time. With 'Atomic Kitten's - You can make me whole again.. he'd sing 'You can lick my hole again'... I still do it now. Although it's not a song I hear often! Lol.

Although you know the song 'Power of love' when he says 'can change a hawk to a little white dove'.. My ex thought it was 'can change a heart to a little white girl'!!! Haha... I cracked up when I heard him sing it..

Michelle, ma belle
These are words that go together well
My michelle

Michelle, ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont trs bien ensemble
Trs bien ensemble

I love you, I love you, I love you
That's all I want to say
Until I find a way
I will say the only words I know that
You'll understand

Michelle, ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont trs bien ensemble
Trs bien ensemble

I need to, I need to, I need to
I need to make you see Instant Song Lyrics
Oh, what you mean to me
Until I do I'm hoping you will
Know what I mean

I love you

I want you, I want you, I want you
I think you know by now
I'll get to you somehow
Until I do I'm telling you so
You'll understand

Michelle, ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont trs bien ensemble
Trs bien ensemble

I will say the only words I know that
You'll understand, my michelle

Thanks joko, I thought I was going mad when someone said it should be 'Michelle, my friend.....'

I was thinking well, I always sing My Belle, maybe I've been singing it wrong all these years!!!
But whenever ive said my sister was named after Michelle by Belle, people said it wasnt and it was Michelle my friend!
:( i dont know!
I do this in a Christmas carol: My cuz and I always sing "In the meadow we can build a snowman, and pretend he is Jackson Brown", instead of parson Brown. and in the same song we sing "later on we'll prespire as we dream by the fire...." instead of "we'll conspire".

Lame, I know.
I sing along to Fireman Sam for the boys at the bit where it's:

"If there's trouble, he'll be there - on the ground or in the air"

I always sing:

"If there's trouble, he'll be there - in his purple underwear"
jno.... I have done myself a mischief laughing at some of the sites that appeared when I googled mondegreens... I haven't laughed that much in years.
From What A wonderful World. I used to think it was "The dogs say goodnight" till a friend told me it was "The dark sacred night". Later on REMS Losing My Religion " I peed in the corner" instead of "Thats me in the corner".
