I have recently got a Sony MP3 player, and have been able to use the accompanying software, Sony Connect, to load music from my hard drive onto it.

However, I have a problem with iTunes. I have bought a lot of music on it and these tracks seem incompatible with the Sony software. How can I change them to make them compatible?

Cheers,
Ashdown.

You can't.

This is the problem with DRM'd music, such as the music bought from most legal online stores (including Apple's).

I advise you to not buy any more legal music from any stores that DRM their music.

To get use of the music you've already bought, add the bought music to a playlist and then burn that playlist as an audioCD. You should then be able to import this like a regular audioCD into your sony connect software. ideally import it as mp3, but knowing sony you may have to import them as atrac (though I don't know this for sure).
