Omg next door to us (we have only lived here a month) had a bar b que yesterday which started at about midday, it carried on until 1.30 am, they have no consideration as they had the music blaring and a classroom full of kids running around screaming and throwing bottles around at midnight.

this morning the place looks like a warzone and the road outside is strewn with bottles, a few of the kids actually took a leak in the house across the roads front garden.

Im not asking a lot but if she would have tapped on the door and mentioned she was going to be noisy I wouldnt be half as annoyed, its the lack of consideration that bugs me the most.

Hi cazz - That was a bit naughty wasn't it! Must have been a long day for you. This morning they'll be the talk of your road! lol :0)

definately, I am not they kind of person who takes this stuff either so they are on dodgy ground I can tell you!

dammit I wish I wasnt so awesomely outspoken :D
caz - Caution, on a scale of 1 - 10, how rough are they! We have neighbours next door ( alchoholics ) There was a time when they use to play their music quite loud at unreasonable hours, we took it for a while, but we had to go round eventually. Been quiet for ages now, so at least they took it on board!

Its funny really because to look at them they look well groomed, the kids are all well turned out, but they swear like mad and the four year old daughter called someone a F******* B!tch!!, the parents never tell them off and so they are quite annoying.

I would say morally they are 8/10 rough, I am taking this (bbq)as a one off (mainly because my daughter plays out and the one son is quite a nice kid, however I am not scared to say something to them, my partner is very outspoken and he is itching to have a go. If my daughter didnt play out then I would have said something to them

Im going to see if they mention last night today and play it by ear, on a scale of getting abuse back its hard to say, they dont seem very bright and they have 5 kids, 2 of them are late teens so I have to consider that!
Can't see them mentioning it ,can you? I went to a party last night, but they are considerate people and it didn't go on too late. Hope everything will be o.k, maybe one of the other neighbours will have a word with them anyway!
Wow, this exact same thing happened to me 2 nights ago, on the same scale of roughness too! My neighbour was out the front until about 3am though. So I gave her an early wake up call with some nice bassy music (very rare I play music loud I'd like to add) then carried on sanding my hallway. Poor cow must have had a stinking hangover, serves her right for keeping everyone awake lol
I would wait and see if it is a frequent thing, we are usually a very quiet household, but we do have a party in the garden once a year for the kids birthdays and a general family catch up and it is quite loud (we do however invite the neighbours as well). Although the party goes on late, I drag everybody inside the house between 10 and 10.30. I think that everybody has the right to enjoy their space and have a blow out now and then, but if it became a habit, I would come down on them like a ton of bricks! If they do mention anything, it might be best to say that the noise really travels at night, so it would be good if they could take the party indoors when it gets late, and see what happens.

very tempting leg, I am putting this one down to a one off....

however if this is the shape of things to come then I have enough noisemaking items to wake up the street! and I am not afraid to use them all simulaneously :)
ha ha legend - I just usually send the kids out to play nice and early. My neighbours had a party at the weekend, which wasn't that bad, but they had a few taxis turn up in the early hours, tooting their horns(illegal I know - lazy b's) and running their engines. My kids went to their house at 8.30 to see if their son wanted to come out to play - he of course was very tired as he had stayed up really late (he's 5) my two were buzzing and full of energy having been in bed at 8.30!!
poor you cazzz maybe thats why you got that house the people b4 had to move because of the noise ....hope its just a one of ... we had neighbours from hell for 10 years and it does make your life hell ... great day when they moved i can tell you ...
i would wait. mt neighbours usually have fairly loud parties around 4 times a year, and the first time was the weekend we moved in. now they invite us to them!

Grrr! When they're all having a lay in and nursing their hangovers, shove some music on (rock?) and sing along (loudly and badly) and mow the lawn.

I wouldnt want an invite though really, they seem a bit of a joyless couple, I have never seen them smile when they are sober.

a good point sleepy, however I was informed by another neighbour that the ppl who used to live where we are now used to have sex in the front garden and put all their rubbish black bags in the garden instead of out for the binmen.

I am going to wait and see, it might be an occasional party rather than a regular drunk fest!
oh sex in the front garden sounds fun .......
