Does anybody know what the world record is for a house spider?

I have just killed one and leg to leg measures 12.3cm. Honestly it is massive.

And I don't want any person telling me it was wrong to kill it. The bu66er deserved to die!!!

jno, those aren't actually spiders in the photograph. They look like spiders but they belong to a different family of arachnids than the spider. They are actually quite fast, but they're non- venomous, despite popular belief. I know a soldier in the middle east who was bitten by one of these Camel 'Spiders' and his tales of their size and apparent ferocity were amusing...
