Is there a register of private tutors in a given area? I've been trying for days to find a BSL level 2 course, but all the places that I've phoned and web sites that I've looked on only tell you about courses in colleges, unis and schools. There is only one college in my area that teaches BSL level 2, which I have been on, and it's going too fast for me. That's why I need one-to one. Thank you.

First of all check with your local education authority - they may have a list of tutors. If not, do you have any social clubs for the deaf in your area? You can also check out the websites of The British Deaf Association (BDA), Royal National Institute of Deaf People (RNID), and the Council For Advancement In Communication With Deaf People (CACDP).
There used to be a website with animated people signing in BSL but I don't know if it's still on the go.
As a last resort you could ring your local social services and ask to speak to one of the social workers for the deaf. They may know of someone who would be willing to give private tuition.
Good luck.

Thank you very much for your answer. I have tried some of those avenues. But will try the ones you suggested that I haven't tried yet. Thanks again :-)
