I bought of couple of DVDs the other day. One plays ok but the other ones displays an error message: 'The DVD Macrovision distribution failed. Playback is not possible.' Can anyone let me know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

One way of solving the problem is not to buy DVD's from dodgy geezers on street corners.

(Sorry.... flippant answer)

I wouldn't call HMV a dodgy geezer, and I can't guarantee the positions of ALL their shops; the odd one COULD be a street corner I suppose.
You may need to hack your dvd player to switch off Macrovision, I'm having problems with mine when running it through via a VCR. Unfortunately I can't find any hacks. Macrovision is an anti piracy thing, if you are running yours through a VCR, try inputting straight to the TV.
