My mum has a set of six coffee spoons given to her father by Haile Selassie for a fly past he did at his coronation as Emporer of Ethiopia in the 1930s. The bowls of the spoons are made of silver coins and the handles are twisted silver wire. does anyone have an idea how much they would be worth?

That would depend on whether there was an interest, she might get a better price if she sold them in Italy where, Haile Selassie is better known than in the UK due to ethiopia having been part of mussolini's "empire"
His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie 1, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, King of Kings of Ethiopia and Elect of God lived in Bath for five years. Send a photograph with all details and a copy of any provenance to Sothebys in London and they will advise you of probable value and where to sell. They are very helpful.
He is regarded as God by rastafarians, so you might find some of them willing to pay well.
The spoons will come in handy at the Rasta's Last Supper, eh, jno?

Whilst I suggested last night that MrsJ1 should try Sotheby's in London they do have premises all over the UK and Here is a link to a list of them.
