An individual is a 100% shareholder in a company which owns property and lets the properties to shops.

The company has being doing this for 20 years and he has been a shreholder all this time.

He is wanting to sell his shares and wants to know if he is eligible for full taper relief.

Most commercial activities are trades, but property investment (apart from furnished holiday lettings) is not classed as a qualifying trade for CGT Taper Relief.
