I've wanted to get a cat for ages but i live in a second floor flat and i think it would be difficult for it to get in and out as i have three doors into my flat and i may not hear it when it wants to come in. i really wish i could get round this problem any ideas?

Could you put cat flaps in these doors so it could make its own way in and out?

Sounds like not all of the doors are yours if you're on the 2nd floor (the external door from the flat building for example) so you'd probably have to talk to your management company or other residents if you maintain the building yourself, before you did anything but that would strike me as the most practical thing to do for the cat.
Hi there,
You could have an indoor cat.
We have 2 indoor cats.
They are very nervous if they wander into the garden.
I would worry all the time if they went out as they may get knocked down.
They are very happy cats and very loving.
That is your other option to have a house cat.
We started with 1 cat and a year later wanted another.
Hope this helps.

i agree, my cat is pretty much an indoor cat & although she sometimes goes out, she stays in the garden mainly
