I am going to America and New Zealand soon which would be the cheapest place to buy a laptop or is it pretty similar!?!?

Do you want a laptop with a non-UK keyboard?
America will be cheaper, definitely.

As Ethel points out though, the keyboard will be american... with the @ symbol above the number 2, for example.

Not a huge issue, but if all the other keyboards you use are british, it may be an issue.
And no euro symbol on 4 either I think
Won't those characters still be on the keyboard but just in a different position?
An American keyboard will not have the pound sign, nor the Euro.

The 'enter' key is usually a lot smaller than the UK too.
