I see, that to this point, you've elicited no answers. Probably because, other than some extremely specialized animal science types, the answer to your question would be difficult to determine.
I suspect, opinion only, that autism in humans is, at best, difficult to diagnose. In fact, there's a great debate as to whether autism , as a stand alone ailment, actually exists. I do know though, that the symptoms leading to such a diagnosis involve the higher functions of the brain in humans and would not be recognizable in lower species, even primates... again, opinion only.
Interesting and insightful question though...
I knew a Border Collie that was damaged at birth, and it had obviously affected the brain, as it unable to balance properly when it walked and swayed from side to side, and would sit with its body sort of on the skew. It was perfectly happy and took part in obedience competitions. This was I know a result of a physical trauma, rather than a medical condition as such, but I can't see why there are not some cases of autism, although a severe case would probably be put to sleep or die very young.
