Which British female singer was part of the do do do do do chorus on Walk on the Wild Side. I remember her being interviewed years ago, and she said she had never met Lou Reed cos the chorus was recorded separately. But I can't remember who she was.

The backing singers were a trio called 'Thunderthighs' consisting of Karen Friedman, Dari Lalou and Casey Synge. Hope one of these was what you were looking for x
I think the singer you refer to is Helen Terry. She sand backing vocals for Culture Club for a while - 'Church Of The Poison Mind' and 'Victims' both feature her backing vocals, and she did tour with them for a while. I always understood that she was a member of The Thunderthighs who sang on WOTWS, but the previous Respondant disputes this, and the Web provides no evidence of her connection to them, so maybe she made it up to enhance her mystique but, as always, I am open to correction if anyone knows different.

Thanks andy hughes. Only just got your answer cos my computer bust. Helen Terry - at last! Thanks! Just put her name and Walk on the Wild Side in Google and it came up a few times about her backing vocals. I think it was only for the recording she was used, and his touring backing band was totally separate. I remember her interview distinctly but for the life of me couldn't remember who it was. Now I know. Thanks mate!
