can someone explain the door policy in drinking bars about not letting people in on a sat::night wearing trainers,thurs / friday ok but not sat: what wrong with them .i'm talking about the �60.00 ones here ,i see guys inside the bars wearing the scruffiest of shoes even sandals ,so why the trainer ban

It's absolutely backward.

Thankfully though, it's a pretty good rule of thumb that a bar that has a dress code tends to be absolutely rubbish.

i agree with it being backward but like most towns doncasters
many bars and pubs in the town centre where all the night life is has doormen on every one except two mainly student bars
(and they do have the best atmosphere) so your very limited to where u go without wearing "proper"shoes which i hate

who ever goes out to a bar wearing trainers anyway??? White trainers glow in the UV light therefore blinding innocent drinkers...

If a bar / club / pub has a ban on trainers, ther's absolutely no way you'd get me in there! As was said before, if they've got a door policy / footwear Nazis (bouncers) then they may as well have a neon sign outside that proclaims This Is A Craphole!
