What are fluid ozs?

I have to make some white sauce to go with the fish for lunch today but the recipe says use 10 fl ozs of milk.

On my measuring jug It gives me gallons,pints, miles, furlongs, chains, hectares, millimetres, rod, pole perch, and chain, but not fluid ozs

What the heck are 10fl. ozs?

I think you need to get a new measuring jug, one that shows fluid ounces aswell as litres!

10 fl oz (UK) = 1/2 pint (UK), 0.6 pint (US), or 284 ml.

10 fl oz (US) = 0.625 pint (US), 0.52 pint (UK), or 296 ml.

(There are 20 fl oz to the UK pint, but 16 fl oz to the US pint)
