Is Cameron leading the Tories to extinction?

After more than 10 years of Labour Government, for the Tories to trail in 3rd in two bye-elections is a disaster for them. Admittedly, both were in strong Labour constituencies , but to be pushed into 3rd is not good enough. Cameron worked very hard in Ealing, visiting it 5 times in the past week. I think he is in for an uncomfortable day today.

Do you think his days as leader are numbered?

Do they have anyone else who could step in?
What is worse is that they were pushed into second place by the Liberal Democrats who currently do not have a leader.

Anyway, David Davies would be a far better leader than Cameron.
Sorry, that should say "they were pushed into THIRD place"
I'm surprised they didn't ask Blair to cross the floor and stand for Tory leader?

'Extinction' is a bit extreme but as a leader he's pretty ******** in just about every field except publicity (and is thus responsible for the cringe-fest that is the Tories' current logo). He's good at churning out soundbytes in Parliament and point-scoring, so he's sufficient as an opposition leader - but I just think he's very difficult to take seriously.

This alleged vote of no confidence seems to be a bit of a nonevent though. Pity, really.

the starred-out word above is not a swearword. It's whoever designed the AnswerBank swear filter being irritating (and lazy). The word I was using is another word for 'useless' that begins with 'f' and ends with the same last four words.
