Samsung U600 Annoying tones

Hello...
Can anyone help with something really annoying with my Samsung U600. It has recently started to make an annoying noise everytime I send a message, take it off silent and writing a text. I've taken off the indicative tones and it still does it. It didn't do this when I first got it a few months ago.... what's going on? Can anyone help?

i came to the conclusion along time ago that this is a network issue and not a phone one. the only thing you can do without muting it is to use the volume keys on the left side. we are all on 02 and my daughters does it as she is on PAYG but the rest of us are on contract and we dont get it. we swapped phones to see if it made a difference and still my daughters made the tone in my phone.

How strange!! Thanks for answering! My phone is on contract and has been ever since I got it. It just randomly starting doing it a couple of weeks ago. Thanks again... nice to know it's not just me!
